Eth0 and Wifi AP on Mangoh red with wp7607-1 ERROR

#1

HI,

On my mangoh red I use the iot ethernet card to enable eth0. It wotks

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 56:AF:F1:39:BC:C0
_ inet addr:192.168.1.151 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0_
_ inet6 addr: fe80::54af:f1ff:fe39:bcc0%1103765244/64 Scope:Link_
_ UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1_
_ RX packets:14229 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0_

_ collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000_
_ RX bytes:963393 (940.8 KiB) TX bytes:683844 (667.8 KiB)_

Now I want to activate an wifi AP.
I did what indicated in the topic https://github.com/mangOH/mangOH/wiki/mangOH-Red-mt7697-wifi

When I use the command: wifi ap start wlan1 I have the messages:

WIFI AP don’t work and eth0 too.

Do you have a solution ?

Hi Laurent,
On the MangOH Red there are 2 ways to run Wifi. One is withe Mediatek 7697 that is on-board always. The instructions you mention with patches are for the Mediatek. For the
Talon TI IOT ethernet card the instructions are in https://mangoh.io/wifi-expansion-card.
Please try the latter’s instructions if you are using the IOT ethernet solution. You print
out eth0 and wlan1 - these are totally different interfaces (eth0 is wired & wlan1 is
normally the Mediatek solution). If you still have problems you can run the iw(1) commands to provide more detailed information.

Hi Zahid,

Thanks for your answer.
I want use the Mediatek 7697 for the Wifi (wlan1) and a IOT ethernet (RJ45) card for eth0.

The eth0 connection works at the start of my Mango.

But when I want to activate wlan1, I have the error messages shown in my first message. and the connection eth0 no longer works. And of course wlan1 don’t works.

I do not know if it’s related, but in the “mangOH Red getting Started Guide”, chapter 5.2, it is mentioned the distribution is installed if the redSensorToCloud application appears.I followed the whole procedure, I do not see this application. My legato release on my vm is 18.09.0.
